Vendor Information

Tool Description:

The SAT-DX is a highly-integrated Intel486DX(TM) processor-based industrial single board computer. Its feature-rich onboard I/O controllers makes the SAT-DX ideal for embedded control applications and its PC software compatibility assures easy program development and checkout. A 16-bit PC/104 connector allows expansion with off-the-shelf or user-designed modules for special purpose I/O functions not found on the base SBC.
Designed to minimize power requirements and supporting "Deep Green" SMM/SMI modes, it draws only 900 mA @5 volts at a DOS prompt but drops by 70% to 270 mA when the Power Savings standby mode is enabled in the BIOS. Integrating the basic AT-peripheral complement, the SAT-DX includes the keyboard controller, two 8 channel interrupt controllers, a real-time clock, 3 counter/timers, seven DMA channels, and speaker port.
A floppy disk controller and IDE interface support rotational disk drives. However, two onboard 32-pin sockets support up to a 1 MB SRAM, 2 MB EPROM or 12 MB Flash disk eliminating the need for rotational storage for most embedded applications. Onboard I/O includes two serial channels that support RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 interface levels. There are also 24 bidirectional general purpose digital I/O lines.
The SAT-DX has a 72-pin SIMM socket which supports up to 32 MB of user-supplied dynamic RAM. The board can be supplied with 8 KB of surface mounted DRAM for applications subject to shock and vibration.
MS-DOS, Windows, OS2 as well as other real-time executives and popular AT-compatible operating systems are supported.
